Coil Is being Fried
My 1996 Chev. Blazer (S-10) won't start. Found that my coil was fried. Marks on the exterior showed arcing inside. Replaced the coil and veh. started. However, it then stalled and the new coil shows signs of arcing again and is fried. Veh. will not start again. I can almost get it to turn over but it won't. The stalling occurrs when veh. is idiling and when driving. Any suggestions what is causing this and how to correct. <edited><editID>dmayes</editID><editDate>38480.7847800926</editDate></edited>

Coil Is being Fried
Thanks for the response. I had vehicle towed to local ASE mechanic. After numerous checks and test it was determined that the vehicle security sytem in the steering column was not connected properly. They clean the connectors and re-connected. Seems to have worked. I'll keep my fingers crossed. <IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0">
