Debating some c4...
I will start by saying I love my truck. I really really do. This has just become a love-hate relationship... I love it, it hates me. So I have a 1966 S-10 and I am now at a complete loss with it. For a while now I have noticed a "dragging" feeling when I am driving at about 35mph that clears up once I hit 40 or so. Thought it could be trans but never really looked into it. A few weeks back we got some pretty awesome rains and when driving the next morning my truck was "jerking" for a lack of a better way to put it. When it did this it felt like I was intermittently hitting the gas and then the brake back and forth. Unfortunately I was running late for work and so I had to baby it up there. When I hit the first stop light it started misfiring pretty bad, then "jerking" forward again. That was when i noticed that my check engine light was on, my ABS light was on, and my parking brake light was on. Thinking it was pretty early and i hadn't had any coffee yet, I reached down to disengage my parking brake while calling myself an idiot... only to find the parking brake was not set. Completely confused now. Took off from the stop light and the lights went off, the truck smoothed out... for about a minute or two, then lights back on, jerking etc. This went on the whole way to work. When I got to work (an un named Auto parts store) I pulled out the scanner and got a P code (which of course I lost by now) that indicated an intermittent functioning crank sensor. Now I am really lost! When I got off work and drove home it ran smooth. The next day (after some more rain) it was the same cycle. So I started thinking I must have a short somewhere that the moisture is affecting. It hasn't rained for a bit and the truck hasn't acted up... until today. No rain, no high humidity, nothing that previously caused the truck to buck and jerk. No check engine light or other lights either. Just jerking forward at a stop, misfiring, and jerking while driving. I am completely at a loss now. Have any of you had this happen that could point me where to start? I cleared the P code, and it hasn't come back on, so I don't really know if it really was the sensor to begin with. I guess I should add that I am below a half tank of gas... it seems to act up more often when it is below half a tank, but I don't know if that could have anything to do with it. Thanks!
