Endgine Noises... where do I start?

Default Endgine Noises... where do I start?
I have a 2002 Chevy S 10 4x4 and it just started making a low but loud engine howl/hum when started up cold with heating settings on as soon as i accelerate that only lasts for about 45seconds to a minute... Any tips on where I may be able to start looking?

use a stethescope to find the area it's coming from. could be your blower moter, or your serpentine belt slipping
