I have seen both the stabdard OEM plastic handles and aftermarket aluminum handles on e-bay

aluminum replacement 3rd door handle

I bought an aluminum handle off of e-bay and it only cost me $9 including shipping!

Here is the link. If you want to have a handle and not break then wala.

Lets spread the word so that others don't get ripped off by going to auto part stores and getting plastic ones that will just break again!

Does anyone know if this fellow is still selling these door handles? I went to the aforementioned site and there is no contact info and the website hasn't been updated since 10/25/2012. I'm hesitant to send money to the guy if he isn't there anymore.
