Generation gap
Okay maybe someone can straighten this out for me. I've always been under the impression/assumption that the generation change was always the same year/time as a body style change. If anyone knows the truth let me know here. I'm basically trying to confirm/figure out if my '96 S-10 is a 1st gen or a 2nd gen. The whole thing that throws me off is some people say that a "true" 2nd gen has the composite headlights not the sealed beams.
Wow I can't believe someone finally answered this. Like I said I have always considered the generation change to occur the same time as body style changes. I was just hoping someone would have some input or an answer, I appreciate your input on the subject so thanks.
For the s-series
First gen: 82-93

Second gen: 94--2004 (actually 94-present cause basically the whole factory got shipped to brazil and is producing the truck)

That them.... if your truck doesn't look like the first pic its a second gen....
