Default Hello....Im new here

Hello, my name is Amanda, I just recently picked up an 85 s10 with a 1.9L for 500 bucks. So far the only problems I have come acrossed is an exhaust leak. Has anyone else come across any problems with this particular year??

Well, thanks and the only thing that I have really noticed that I think may be wrong with it, is that the clutch "chirps" but only when I don't have it in. Well, that and the window washer fluid sprayers dont work, but eh, thats not a big deal at all. Don't reallhy care about that. The clutch chirping however, is a little bothersome, because, I don't know anything about clutches. Any help on this issue would be great.

it may need to be ajusted a bit but its not a big deal right now as long as it shifts smothly. the window washer thing is an easy fix to. the motor is i=on the washer botle. just pull it out and put a new one in.

Do you have a fluid resivor for the clutch. It will be by the brake fluid,(should be on the firewall) If you do you have a hydralic clutch. I don't know when they started in s10's but they cannont be adjusted. The chirp could be you giving to much clutch, and spining the tires, it could be a throw out bearing, or a piolt bearing. Kinda hard to tell without hearing it. Keep an eye on the ball joints, lower especially, I haven't had to much of a problem,(replaced mine) but I have heard they go bad on these.

Well, yes I do have a clutch reservoir. haha, my tires don't squeal. My truck has a 1.9L witha sbbl carb. Nothing special. I just roll it, I don't care enough about it to put money into it.

You might be suprised what you can do with a clutch. It all depends on how you drive it.

Well, its got 100,000 miles on it, I dont beat on it at all (to afraid to). I have never heard the tires squeal, and the chirping noise, is inside my truck. Im not to sure what it is, the clutch also vibrates too. I think I need a new clutch?

You may also need to get your flywheel turned. That's the same as turning a brake drum or rotor. It just shaves it down until it's a smooth surface again.
