Default HELP PLEASE!!

hey everyone. glad to be on the forum but i need help with a problem. i have an 86 s10 blazer 2.8L v6. its in great condition but the problem is i ran out of gas on my way to the gas station. i was able to get about 1/4 tank of gas in the tank but the car wouldnt start. i had no time to troubleshoot the problem because i had work. so i left it on the road and my dad was able to get it started and drive it back home. but once he turned it off it wouldnt start again. i checked everything that i could think of. theres plenty of gas, the motor cranks, i checked the battery and its fully charged, theres propper output from the alternator, i can hear the fuel pump working, ive tried to jump the battery, cranked the motor and sprayed carb fluid in the TB. can anyone out there help me out?

Don't know if this is any help, but typicaly when a fuel injected engine run dry, the injectors need to be reset, remove the hot wire (red) from the battery for a bit i.e. the clock goes back to blinking 12:00, plug back in and give it a try. If not then find a manual, go to electrical diagnostics and find the code area, there should be an area that shows you how to create a jumper wire to plug in to your diagnostics area read the manual and it will explain.

we had a problem like that with an old ford pickup that we ran out of gas one time and all we had to do was flick the key from the off position to the on position let it sit for a second (you should here the fuel pump) then back to off and do this a few times then try and start it I dont know if it will help or not but its worth a try.
