Default Ignition fuse blowing

Checked the wiring diagram , and it seems there ain't much to the circuit . Had the starter/solonoid replaced about a month ago , and sometimes it would hesitate when turning over . Well , today it didn't wanna turn over , and I lost dash lights/gauges . Sure enough , ignition fuse popped so I replaced it . It turned over , hesitated , turned over a couple miore times , the blew the fuse . I'm thinking it may have something to do with the new started (probably remanufactured) or a short/melted wire . Have yet to try to tace the wiring as it's now raining . Noticed in the fuse box that there's this threaded post that looks like it wants a nut on it , as it looks like there's a ring terminal at the base , so goaa try to throw a nut on there ..... Anyways , thanks in advance for any insight .

Why did you originally change the starter/solenoid? Did the problem start after the change?

I inherited this truck from my brother . He had electrical issues with it , and the starter was going bad . Verified by beating it last time it wouldn't turn over , and it started right up , so reman'd starter was put in with solenoid . Found a burnt wire underneath around starter/solenoid area next to flex pipe . Read about that somewhere in the last couple hours , so bought some wire , terminals and such to try to tackle THAT issue . Away from home right now though , so I d0on't have all my tools and junk with me . He had told me shortly before dying he had found some burnt wire SOMEWHERE causing problems , not sure if it's the same one I just found . But I'm gonna re-run it away from heat sources when I climb under there again ...... But still looking for input . As with every vehicle , I know they have model-specific iussues , like the Subarau engine cover gaskets on certain engines , or the '00-'02 B12 engines that burn oil .....

Oh , BTW , don't know if it matters much , but it's a '98 2.2 auto , LS I think . I know it was rebuilt at one point by some "mechanic" friend of his , and it often had starter issues kinda randomly pop up ....
