hey everyone, im new here and hoping to find some information that will help me in purchasing my first S-10. i have recently found a 2000 S-10 here in Canada that happens to fall into my shoestring budget. this will be a second vehicle mainly used to commute to work, about 15km one way, and for lumber yard trips and clearing yard waste. my only concern is that this truck has 324,000km on it. it has been maintained extremely well, and looks as good as the 4x4 2001 sitting beside it on the lot for over twice the price at 120,000km. what kind of problems might i expect on an engine with this many miles on it?? would it be worth jumping on the low price, or would you suggest holding out to try and find somethign with lower miles?? thanks for any input you may have and cheers.

 

hi,i have a 99 s10 with 270,000 miles runs fine.the fuel pump has been replaced -powerbrake boster and
master cylender - and transmission this year. its a 2wd LS longbed with campershell i drive it daily,
have had it for 2 plus years, i bought it dirt cheap have spent around1 grand on above listed.

i have 2 s10s with the 4.3. one has almost 300,000 miles on it. it has had work done to it, but it still runs. i have almost beat the body off of it but it still works fine.

 

I have (in the family) a 94- 4.3with 125K miles (a full tune-up/clean/etc done at 100k) runs like a champ
