need help changing shifting **** on a 98 s10
i have a 98 s10 5 speed and i was told to just take a vice grip to the shifting **** but i don't want to until i get some more info on it so i don't damage the sifting ****. anyone know how to take the **** off?

From what I remember, the factory shift **** is glued on, and there is no threads...
Get a Hurst or B&M short throw shifter for it, so you can throw on whatever **** you want
