Default Need help identifying part 88' s-10

Hey yall, I am trying to identify a part on my grandpas 1988 s-10. I am not familiar with this vehicle at all so I thought I would just ask on here.

Its on the drivers side on the lower half of the engine and it has a fuel line attached to it.

it is a mechanical fuel pump .
