I just acquired a 97 s-10 4.3 with an automatic transmission. The transmission has not completely gone out yet, but is on its last legs . does anyone know how I can use my vin number to pin point the correct transmission. I will be buying a used one and I don't want to buy the wrong one. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

If your looking for a good used one, they should ask for the vin number to ensure the one you buy is correct. Gary
