I am going to try to explain this the best I can as to what is going on with our Blazer.

We have a 1996 Blazer that we desperatly need to get through emissions. But for some reason, when we take it to emissions, thier computer says that it cannot detect our computer. They tell us to go drive it around and turn it on and off several times and then bring it back in a few days. Did this, and still nothing.

So, we have noticed that when you turn the key to the on position (not started) that the service engine soon light is on like normal, then when you start the car and shut it off and turn the key forward again (not started) the light doesnt come on. Then if you wait a few seconds and do this again, the same thing happens. Service Engine soon light comes on, start the truck, shut it off then turn key again....nothing.

We got a comptuer for it thinking that maybe for some reason the computer was messed up, and it's still doing it. Anyone have ANY ideas as to what this could be? We recently replaced EVAP Canister Solenoidbecause we where gettingthe codeP0440 and we havent seen the light on since we where getting that code. But obvisously something is wrong...

Anyone have any ideas?

Check your fuse for the lighter as it also powers the connection for the computer.
