Newbie Here: Anyone know why WeatherTech mats are NOT available for 2003 S-10 2WD LS
First post as a Newbie. Thanks to all for providing a well-maintained forum.
I have been trying to buy replacement mats for the front floor boards and the floor area behind the seat for my 2003 Chevrolet S10 2WD Extended Cab pickup. The previous owner had inserted ill-fitting "cupie doll" mats -- and he was a guy! Didn't ask - won't tell... But yes, they are available if the buyer wants to pay for packaging and delivery costs...
My 2003 S10 Pickup is the 2WD variant and it has the LS Trim package. In case it matters, the truck has the Vortec 4300 V6 MFI Engine. It also has the Sport Suspension Package. The seating is two buckets with a center console. It has the five speed manual floor shift. The cab is the extended cab with a very small 'seat' behind the front passenger seat and a jack cover along the base of the back wall of the cab interior. It has the 'short' door on the driver side, openable with the driver door open. The interior is all black.
I have called WeatherTech to query why they do not make any mats for the 2WD variant of the 2003 model year. She was very nice but explained that she had no idea why and she had no one to ask... It just seems odd because they do make mats for the 4X4 variants -- but everybody I have asked has told me they will not fit..
My first S10 was a 1983 "mini-Blazer" with the Tahoe trim package. It was 4X4 and I loved it enough to put 275,000 miles on it. The dealer I traded it to in 1994 (big mistake, should have kept it) gave it to his daughter as a daily driver and she drove it for about six years and then gave it to her son - who totaled it. Unfortunately, between 1994 and 2017, I have had almost no exposure to the S10 line.
I am hoping the pool of longtime owners and user/experts on this forum can help me with answers to the following:
1. If you know, why does WeatherTech not make these mats?
2. Is the floor board pattern/contour profile for the front and rear floor areas of the 2003 2WD Extended Cab unique,- or - is it the same as some previous years?
3. If the 2003 2WD Extended Cab floor areas are not unique, to which previous model years are they the same?
4. If it has previously been determined by the members of the forum that WeatherTech simply does not make any mats that will fit perfectly for the 2003 2WD Extended Cab, is there a well-regarded company (Husky, etc.) that does make a set of mats that have the raised edges and laser-measured fit?
Thanks to all and I look forward to replies.
