in2pro i was thinking that was a possibility cause it was a low humming sound like it was pushing instead of sucking. so like i said i may move the two wires around and see what happens. but its been rainy and crap here so i dont feel like gettin sick just to try it lol.and thanks for the pin locations i will look into that as well

Rather then swapping them, see if you can identify which one is the + positive with a meter, checking it to ground/frame... then use the wire diagram EinST provided to ensure its wired correctly...
when in doubt ohm it out... this can help prevent accidentally burning up the fuel pump motor...

What brand pump did you use? It should have come with directions and picture for correct connector installation. If the fuel gauge works correctly wiring is not your problem. Did you look to see if the fuel lines are pinched between the tank and body of truck. If you did not use a Delphi or Ac Delco pump you are sure to have a problem now or very soon

You put the old fuel pump in with a new battery? You still need to check the fuel pressure, don't you? It should be 58-64 psi for VIN W (8th of VIN) and 41-47 psi for VIN X with key on, engine off.

well i got her running today and starting on her own accord. it turned out to be the intake plenum gasket and a PCV valve went ahead and changed all three plenum gaskets (i.e. plenum, TB, and injector) bolted her back together and shot a squirt of ether in just in case. she fired right up and drove wonderful. still a little weak but also i do have 31's on it. well i appreciate everyones help and support.
