Default oops...

So today I decided to hand wash and detail my 99 jimmy for the first time this spring, I got really sick of the half *** jobs from the car washes through the winter. Anyway I'm kneeling down to rinse off my rear axle/suspension (yes I wash the rear axle, I painted it so why not?) And I notice thats theres more room under the truck than I remember there being.

Finally it struck me that my spare tire is gone. The cable that held it up had snapped from excessive rust and the tire is God knows where. So now I have to get a new rim, tire, and tire crank. Problem is I can't find this thing anywhere. Anyone have any ideas on where I can get one of these spare tire carriers for a 1999 GMC Jimmy or 1999 Chevy Blazer? Other than the stealership.

I was also thinking about just buying some same size cable, taking the tire hoist apart and replacing it all then i'd just make another "t-bar" to hold the tire up.

I think unless you went to a scrap yard your idea might be the easiest.

Yea I'm thinking a rebuild. I'm pretty sure I can replace that cable pretty easily and just make some kind of t bar holder. I got pretty lucky, my boss found me an exact replacement rim in "like new" shape for $25
