Could anyone confirm what type of power steering fluid I should use in my 1986 S10 2.5 liter? My owners manual got turned into a mouse's nest so I cant read that part anymore.

Maybe it just takes regular power steering fluid, but I thought some of the older trucks took transmission fluid instead. Anyway, I have a leak that needs fixing and don't want to put it back together with the wrong stuff. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

check in at your local auto parts store. If my memory serves me right, it is just any old power steering fluid. redline will work. If you are already flushing, it shouldn't matter. good opportunity for you to use synthetic power steering fluid.
