Pulling the battery
I recently did the lower intake manifold gaskets on my 2003 GM Blazer 4.3 liter and when I pulled the battery I guess it cleared all the IM,s they have all reset except the evap system I have done three GM Drive cycles as stated on the gm website but that didn't do it and I see in my Innova code reader it can take up to 40 warm ups.Is this the only way you can make it run its test cycle oh by the way there isn't any hard codes and hasn't been at all it just keeps blinking. If any one knows a easier or another way I could use the help.
Yes all three drive cycles have been with gas level at 1/4 to 3/4 a tank.Good cap and seal, went through this once before thought the cap needed replacing so I did and same thing evap blinked even through three drive cycles and about 20 or so warm ups until it finally reset.
Update on that evap im I kept hearing a air hissing noise on the manifold but when I squirted it with soapy water to see if the engine would stumble but it didn't.So while replacing a higher amp alternator to solve my amp issues with every thing on and a larger belt now that the stock one wouldn't fit because the larger alternator has a larger case I was feeling around and when wiggling the evap surge control valve I heard a difference in the air noise so I pulled the evap control valve and guess what the o ring was damaged I replaced it with one from the intake manifold gasket kit I bought to repair the intake leakage and guess what no more air hiss noise and I bet I even will be able to get the evap im to reset now since there wasn't anything wrong with it before I replaced the intake manifold and the alternator the belt and next if I have 1996 heads on my 2003 blazer and I can finally get the correct gaskets and grommets for them.
