s-10 rough shifts 700R

I have 88 s-10 4x4 4.3 4WD BLAZER. Idles a little high (1100 rpm). Shifts very rough from first to second. also stays in 2 and 3 too long before final shift to 4 and OD. 91,000 miles one owner vehicle.
