Default s10 2.8 for 3.8 swap

i am working on a 85 s10 with a 2.8 v6, had plans on rebuilding the 2.8, but i have run across a pretty good deal on a 3.8 v6 with 400 miles on complete rebuild, how much extra work would be involved with this engine swap? what will be usable? transmission is a 5 speed, what about brackets, starter, exhaust manifolds, ect. Thanks, Russell

Default RE: s10 2.8 for 3.8 swap

i dont now man but it would prob be easer to put a 350 in it than the 2.8 back in i have a 1985 s-10 truck with a 2.8 auto ,it had to be replaced it had a broken rod (and it still ran ) if i hadent just found one at o'reileys auto part's i was going to put a 355 small block in it .they are tufer to work on with a v-6 than a v-8.cost me about $1200.00,looking back at the ordeal i would have gone with a v-8 ,it was a bear cat .[:'(]
