Default S10 Fuel Filter, please help

ok so heres the deal, my fuel filter is jacked up. i bought a new one. problem is i cannot find where the old one is to replace it. My s10 is a 1988 with as 305 from an iroc camaro. the lines are still all the same but i cannot find the damn thing, i was told it would be right under the under the cab closer to the drivers side. i looked there and cannot find it, does anyone have some more specific tips on how to find it? if you do comments would be greatly appreciated.

The first question I'm asking is...Do you know whether you actually have a fuel filter?

the fuel filter for the 88 blazer is located on the drivers side, it is tucked up into the frame rail, not hard to get to being it is just a c frame not boxed. it will be even with the middle of the drivers door jam

If the engine has a carb it will be in the fuel line connector right at the carb. If it is fuel injected it will be where they were telling you. Mine is a 93 s-10 with a 2.8 v6 w/tbi and my fuel filter is located underneath the cab on the driver side.
