Default Strange brake problem

Hello, My buddy has, what is to me a strange problem with his 95s10. Before I begin I searched the forum a little bit to resolve my problem with no success.

The problem started 5 days ago. When the brake pedal is pressed a whooshing of air can be heard down by the pedal, continuously for as long as you hold the brake this sound continues. The engine also revs up roughly 500rpms. Also the vehicle still stops but the brakes must be stood on.

Is there a slave down by the pedal on these trucks? Brake booster? Master cylinder? I don't understand why I am hearing a continuous whooshing of air coming from what I assume is a hyrdaulic system.

Default brakes hissing when depressed

I am currently having the exact same problem! Have you changed the booster? Did it work? I don't want to throw away money on a new master cylinder i don't need.
