Torsion Bar crossmember

Torsion Bar crossmember
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, and I hope someone out there can help me out.
I have an 04 S-10 Blazer, It's a 4 door, 4WD. I just put a rebuilt tranny in, and while on a test drive, went over a bump, and my front end dropped down on the tires. Well the crossmember that holds the torsion bar keys, and attaches to the torsion bars rotted out, and snapped almost right in half. Doubt if this had anything to do with the tranny replacement, but my problem is the crossmember which is GM Part # 15697843 is discontinued. Why they would do this is beyond me. But anyway. Does anyone out there have one, or know where I can get one?
Thank You.

Manufacturers are required by law to stock replacement parts for 10 years. No more.
However, Blazers like yours are abundant in N.America. That means three things:
1) junkyards will be well supplied with them. Find one in good condition. Especially rust-free states. It can't cost very much.
2) Market website such as Craigslist and eBay will be well supplied.
3) There is money to be made in the aftermarket. Given the abuse they take, crossmembers are kind of a maintenance item. I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes them. Ask around at your local part dealers. Rockauto.com is worth a glance.
Worst case scenario. Grab some C-channel or box tube metal at your local supplier. Spend a 6-pack and an afternoon with a hammer and grinder to shape it, then call your welding buddy.
