VSS Location? 1988 S-10

VSS Location? 1988 S-10
My truck is throwin code 24 (VSS malfunction) ,I bought a new one but I cant find the old one to take off...All I see on the driver side tailshaft of the transfer case is a stupid speedometer cable comin out... Where is this VSS lacated?

If you have a manual transmission, there is no VSS on the 1988 & earlier S10 😁
