Default where does this elec connector hold down lock go...


...that I am holding in my hand?...2000 4.3 V6 vortec....been unable to figger out where this elec connector lock in my hand goes-pic taken from the front pass side of the truck...this possibly not factory but something a prior owner might have put on?...thanks

It looks like a grounding strap to me. Likely the firewall?

no..it's definitely an elec connector lock down of some sort...made out of plastic, so cant be for a ground and is tethered @ the other end to a wire loom

The locks usually go on the super important stuff. Oil pressure switch? Throttle sensor? crash sensor?

yeah, I know..why I'm tryin' to find its correct owner...nothing electrical within the lenth of it's tether'd location will fit it, that i have been able to observe...why I was asking

hard 2 say..plastic definitely weather-worn...Ima assumin I'll eventually find it's rightful home home when wherever it lives suddenly decides to fail on me...;-)....I plan on dumping this truck next Spring anyways as the engine now has dev'ld that dreaded knock @ hwy speed :-(

...ended up having a used engine put into the truck, as I couldnt find another S10 in as good a shape for the cost of an engine replacement...apparently, that hold down baffled the shop that did the replacement, as it's still danglin' there...LOL

MYSTERY SOLVED!!...only discover'd while watching a video series (damn good one, too) on start-to-finish replacement of the spider assy...it's the lockdown for the the spider injector elec connection, located on top of intake plenum, btwn distributor and the gas lines-see pic..TA DAH
