Default 1997 chevy s10 2.2 litre manuel transmission

My 1997 Chevy S10 2.2 man transmission died while driving. Now wont start wont crank no noise no dash lights the gauges are all stuck right where they were when it died except the temperature gauge its on zero the speedometer is on 48 mph please help I can't figure this out

I'd start at the battery and go up from there.
