After having owned a 2011 Duramax and a 2018 Chevy Traverse full size SUV I bought a 2022 F-150 with the 36-gallon fuel tank. I ended up replacing the Ford battery 4 times in 36 months and last week traded in the F-150 for a new 1500 Z71 truck. Reliability is the most important thing with a truck I am taking off the road or just out into the boondocks which is why I sold the Duramax and the F-150.
I was surprised when researching the 2025 Silverado 1500 trucks to learn that the Eaton locker for the rear differential was standard on all trucks. Also surprised that the Z71 package was heavily discounted and only adding $730 to the MSRP for the 2025 trucks which is a steal if only to get the better tires. The Z71 package is also needed to get the two speed transfer case with high and low range.

I have a color matched Snugtop camper on order to complete the truck. Love the Cypress Gray color introduced in October 2024 by GM.
