Car keeps running with the key off if the brake pedal is pressed. When the brake pedal is released the motor shuts off.

 

Has anybody done any work on it recently? Did this just start with nothing being done to the car? What is it and what year?

 

Thank you for your reply. Its a 99 suburban 1500 (sorry). No work was done on it recently, I've had the car for a year and it looks like the electrical system has not been touched except for a trailer brake which I disconnected. I did remove the trailer plug also. The brake light turns off when the emergency flashers are on. Thanks again
