Dash reading hot but not hot!!!

Default Dash reading hot but not hot!!!

I have a 02 suburban and I replaced the water pump thermostat and the temp sensor and I have hot heat but as I'm driving the gaguge will read hot but its not over heating. Please help!!!

Why did you replace the temp sensor in the first place? Make sure you don't have an air bubble at the sensor. Air in an engine will get much hotter than the coolant. Try loosening the sensor and start the engine. When the engine warms up, you should see a small amount of coolant escaping around the sensor. If there are air bubbles coming out, wait until the bubbles go away and you just get the coolant. Then tighten the sensor and recheck the gauge on the dash.
