I've grown up using my grandpas and my dads tools and they never had any kind of organization at all. It was so frustrating and time consuming to have to stop for 10 minutes or so to look for a wrench or screwdriver or something. So when I got my own tools I vowed to never let that happen. Its amazing how much quicker you can do a job when you can find the right tool in the same place every time.

As for the "shop" Thats just my parents 3 car garage that I converted into a trans shop for the weekend with a couple tables, my shop press, and my parts cleaner. I just layed all the parts and tools on one table to make everything easier. Usually I have all the tools in my toolbox in my grandpas pole barn down the street from me. I do all my work in that pole barn but its way to dirty in there to build a trans. I swept and mopped the floor of that garage multiple times before I cracked that trans open.
