I set it up for 6"s of lift to match what I had on it already, yesterday was the 1st true test of it at the mud bog races. I was really nervous because the pit was really nasty and a lot of good trucks were braking axles, but she held together fine after 3 runs.
well george how do you like your new setup?any mods needed after the runs?
i just went back and peeked @ your updated album and noticed the new axle is driver drop?.....
ahhh now i think i remember, the ifs has a driver drop so that worked out for ya..i was thinking that the axle would not work because your case was a pass drop....duh......yea george im in here talking to myself and answering my own questions.....im loosing it fast.....

I wish the 241 did have the passenger side shaft so I could have used a Chevy/Dana up front but the jeep version with the same bolt pattern worked out well for me and had the drivers side set up. My only problem now is I need a little more power out of her. Running the 35 x 16 x 16 boggers robs a lot of hp when it gets really thick and it's hard to maintain 2nd gear without dropping the r's.
I'm thinking of a post of my engine build with a request for suggestions on how to get a little more out of it and still stay with the factory computer controlled ignition and fuel injection. I'm thinking maybe different heads with a smaller combustion chamber to increase compression, if I can do that with my ignition, and a little more cam.
Oh yeah, I did get a 2nd place finish in 1 of my classes.

Here i thought i had it figured out and attributed it to the high altitude but i can see thats not the case damn~ you blew that one out the door red and now i need another excuse for my confusion ! maybe i will do less thinking and saying and more doing , sounds like a safe retreat to me! at least till somebody catches on ! Just point me in the direction you need me to go and i will get there hell or high water and i will let you know when i do ! stuff must be catching or something !!
it's all good chuck.....it's a little confusing when all of us own chevy's and we all tear into them for that perfect setup.......when i was there the air did make me a little funny......or was it what was in the air
.......
i just wish i was closer to george so we could use his shop and put all our parts together and build one bad a$$ rig.....i can see it now

I love to use my shop and spend other peoples money at the same time, I wish I did live closer to some of the guys that like to build up some real 4x4 rigs, I know I could use the help from time to time.
This Friday night I get to start installing the rough country lift I took off of my Tahoe on a friend of my sons truck, I only charged him $300. for the lift and the shop and my labor are free. He also gets new front calibers I had just installed as well as the factory skid plate that he doesn't have. Not too bad IMO.
