Hi All,

I have a 2013 Silverado 4x2 with the 3.23 axle ratio. I am buying a boat which with trailer, boat and engine (no fuel or other weight on the boat) is around 5000lb pounds. The 3.23 is rated for 4700 total trailer weight so I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on whether it would be a good idea to upgrade the axle to the 3.73 ratio to allow more towing capacity or should I plan to purchase a larger vehicle? I only have the 4.8L engine however it does come in the 3.73 ratio I just never got it.
