Default 2015 Chevy Captiva Fuel pressure runs high and the engine bogs down

So currently we have a captiva that has been sitting at the shop for about 2 weeks now and we have zero clue on how to draw down our problem. Currently the car has left the shop three times after being given back to the customer and has been brought back we have done a few things to the car, but the real main problem is something funky going on with the fuel pressure. The pressure at idle was at about 53-57 psi, when suddenly out of nowhere the car starts bogging down and skipping. We looked at the fuel pressure it had sky rocketed to about 2000 psi. Sometimes the car will even run fine for upto a few hours with absolutely no issue. We have no idea what the problem could be and right now were stuck and really need to give this car back to the customer.

Is the check engine light on? Are you getting a P0089 coded? 2000 psi sounds really high! Possibly the fuel pressure regulator.
