So, I recently bought a 2009 Silverado 1500 4wd. It will only get about 2k a year, so I bought one that needs a little work. My first question is, will 17"x 8" wheels fit? It has 17's on it now, but I don't know how wide. I want to have 2 sets of tires and rims because the snow gets pretty deep in the U.P. of Michigan. Thanks for any help. I will have several more questions after I look into other problems, like all the lights on the dash.

 

I would take it to my favorite tire shop (Les Schwab here in the PNW) and get their advice - cuz full disclosure, I'm a veterinarian, not a mechanic!!
