Thumbs down Stereo, constant power

When I bought this van it had a custom stereo installed already. It was in the same spot that the old stereo was in but the problem is it has constant power. It will drain the battery if left on. I have no idea where they hooked it up to under the dash but it is drawing enough power to drain a good battery. Any one have any thoughts as to where they may have tied this in. There are no wires going directly to the battery or to the fuse panels.

Radios have 2 power lines. One is for the memory for the stations and clock. The other is for the power to turn on. They probably have them both tied to a line that is hot all the time. Typically a yellow wire is for the memory and hot all the time. The red wire should be connected to a power source that is switched. Look at the cigarette lighter as they are usually unswitched in many cars.

Is that enough power to run a stereo....I guess it would be eh. ??

EDIT: I'll take a look at that as soon as I figure out how they got that front console off, lol.

Where should the power lines from the stereo be wired to on the van. I don't know what the previous owners have done back there but they have something to the stereo hooked up wrong.

Look at the factory plug for the radio. Even if it isn't plugged in you can tap into the power lines in it. Use a meter to check for the power on and power switched wires. Remember power switched will be a red wire and power on probably will be yellow.
