first i would spend about $375 in a custom tune by nelson performance. get them to remove 80% of your torque mangament and it will eliminate most of the delay. plus on my 6.0 (i have to run 93, 10:1 compression) on 93 octane it gives something like 30-35hp to wheels. not to bad for just a tune.

give it a try before going through the trouble of swapping cams. then if you decide to do it, call them up, tell them what youve done, and you get a free retune. best of both worlds.

good luck

www.nelsonperformance.com : i personally have to run 93 on my 06 V-max due to the 10.1:1 compression but the new V-max runs at like 9.6:1 so yes you should be able to run on 87 but it might ping a little on cheap gas. on my 06 5.3V8 nelson said it was 16-18hp to the wheels for 87 and about 30 to the wheels on 93 (i went 87) but 93 with a tune will make a big difference and it is only about 5-6 more per complete fill up. if you are running 89 just go up to 93 becuase money wise you wont see a big difference.

im probably going to go 85% torque management removal. just remember if you beat on it with any TM removed you might break something. also you might want to keep your stock PCM (they will charge you a core charge) so as not to void your warrenty. when you need service just pop your factory one back in. good luck.

Wheatly, HP tuners, and Nelson.

Most have a life time free re-tune. Where they ship you your new computer and then you ship them the old one back... Just pay for shipping.

You would want to re-tune your truck for a cam swap anyways, so thats a good place to start before you throw in a cam.

You wont see a difference in higher octane unless its tuned for it.

here is a good link describing Torque mangament and why GM just needs to MAN THE HELL UP!!!!
also why your 07 feels sluggish even with a damn impressive motor.
Nelson's saves us all LOL
