Default 1994 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 W/T

I seem to have an unusual truck here. I bought this truck used and it had a 4.3L Vortek motor, and dual knock sensors. about 2 months ago my bearing lifters went bad so I did a motor swap with a regular 4.3 that still had a roller cam like my vortek motor so I didnt really lose any performance. My problem is that my headers are generating alot of heat and im not sure if its from the motor swap. I keep having the same plug wire melt on me and i have tried to higher end sets of wires. ( OE Standard wires, and Autolite) both ran about 60$ for the set and are supposed to have life time warranty but since the boot is melting off they wont warranty. My question(s) are as follows:
Is there something wrong with my headers? or could something else be the problem?

What brand headers are you using? I used to have melted wires all the time with my Edelbrocks on my Monte Carlo. I ended up getting some MSD heat wrap for the boots and it helped

I still have stock headers on my truck. I can try the heat wrap and see if that makes a difference. any brand of heat wrap you recommend?
