I adjusted the valves 3 days ago. The first day was nice, no lifter tick, more power. The 2nd day i started to hear a bit of what i thought was a knock. My lifters never ticked at idle or low rpm previously. But if i got on it at all they would almost sing.

Now its doing nearly the same thing.... At low rpm and idle the truck sounds great. Get on it even a little bit its sounds like frogs on a pond at dusk. All high pitched and chirpy. But it still runs good, i havent lost any power.

Im thinkin its a bent or a burnt valve but at this point i need some outside assistance.

How exactly did you adjust the valves? The manner in doing so makes a big difference. I'd not use it until this issue is repaired.

I quarter turned the crank 8 times. Each turn i would spin the rod as i took the lash out. After the 8th turn and adjustments, i went an additional 3/4 turn.

Before i started anything i loosened all the rocker arms, took all tension whatsoever out and started from scratch.

Here is another way to adjust the valves, while the motor running. A 3/4 turn on the rocker stud nut after all the slack is out of the rocker/valve rod. I've heard of people going a full turn, but I never had to do so.

If there was no lifter noise, why did you adjust the valves?

There are little clips made to prevent oil from being shot all over the place from the oil hole on the rockers. This allows you to check for a noisy lifter with the engine idling without getting an oil bath.
