Angry 2003 Silverado drivers side wiper stopped working...

We had a light dusting of snow the other night, which then melted and refroze as ice, sticking the wiper blades to the windshield. I turned on the wipers, not knowing that they were frozen to the windshield, but only the passenger side arm broke free of the ice, and was moving just fine. The drivers side wiper arm is dead, no movement at all, and it is clear of any ice, etc. What happened, and how do i fix it? Thanks in advance for any replies.

remove the cowel and inspect the wiper transmission. The linkage probably popped off.

Default Wipers fixed??

I tried the wipers on several occasions before I had a chance to work on them, to see if they would somehow work correctly, but still, only the passenger was working. Several days later, I removed enough of the cowel hardware, to be able to get my hand inside, to check for loose linkage, and found none. I turned on the wipers to see what was or wasn't moving, and everything worked fine. So, I put everything back together, and it has worked fine ever since. ?????

Tighten the nut in the center of the arm. It is most likely loose enough to let the arm slip on the splines. If you put slight resistance on that side I bet it will stop moving
