Default 2004 Silverado Instrument Cluster

The oil pressure gauge on my cluster isn't working properly and I was looking to fix it. Replacing the cluster itself instead of replacing the stepper motor seems to be the easiest way to fix this and I was wondering if it is a "plug and play" deal or if it's something that has to be calibrated to the vehicle.

if you fix the stepper motor its plug and play. if you get a different ipc it will need reprogramming. probably 1.4 hours labour at a dealer. don't put a brand new replacement in and drive it to the dealer or the new cluster will lock and have to be sent back to be unlocked.

Thank you for the quick reply. I was thinking about just driving down to the local junk yard and pulling an instrument cluster out of a wrecked vehicle but now I may just look into replacing the stepper motor.

ebay for the stepper motors. get one that comes with instructions. youtube for instructional videos. Its a $10 repair if you can solder a circuit board.
