i like the look of a carborated engine.... and that is pretty much it.... i have seen the stand alones but it is controled by the pcm so would that also work in place of a stand alone since the transmission will be in stock application cause from what i understadn it works off rpm, adn speed well i will still have the stock speedo and the crank and camsensor will be the same.

edelbrock told me i would have to do a tranny swap or get a stand alone so the engine runs correctly which dont make any sense to me when the msd is what is controling the engine and the tranny shoudnt have anything to do with the engine running... but i guess the pcm might not be able to run the tranny if it dont get to run the engine also...and vice versa....so i dont know im not the tranny expert...ill just have to do it and take it for a test run... or if it dont work a test idle...and then go from there...

I would just stick with the fuel injection. By replacing that you lose power, throttle response, cold start reliability, and the list goes on and on. Just stay with the fuel injection!

yea but i dont like the look of all the wire harnesses hugging the block..the bulky intake tube and so on... i like the clean look of just steel braided hoses and a nice polished carb sitting on a aluminum intake manifold...without the never ending line of wires wrapped around the block in every angle...

What don't I know here? Do you have a show truck where dozens of people are looking at the engine and saying"GAH-ROSS! Bag those injection rails!EWWW!"?

Seems like you're letting yourself in for a lot of borrowed trouble otherwise. Just close the hood and let it go. There's a lot of good reasons they switched from carburetion to F/I years ago, and of all things, it seems like a very inadvisable retro-retrofit.
