ok here it goes, i have a 95 chevy k1500. i cracked my wheel and want to replace all of them, i have 16s on it now and i want to go 15s. is this possable? i was told i cant go any smaller cuz of the brake rotor and caliper. but everywhere i turn people are doing it. so its not so much "if i can run 15s" but what are the specs? i want to run 15x10s. whats the backspaceing? offset? and so on? simple ? if you are running 15s. thanks

Just outa curiosity, how come you wanna downgrade to 15's?
16;s would be stronger, I believe tires would be cheaper,
And I am not sure how dinky 15's would look on a full size truck.

Ditto to what he said! Aside from screwing up the suspension geometry (as well as handling dynamics), the truck might not be able to carry as much weight on 15-inchers as with 16" rims.

I would check with a reputable tire shop, as they'll have a book or computer program that will indicate whether or not the size of your brakes will cause a problem with smaller wheels.

My truck is a 2004 (2wd) that came shod with 16" wheels from the factory, but the previous owners upgraded to 17-inch (GM Z-71) wheels. I could probably go back to 16-inchers, but why? The truck looks better with the wheels on it now, even though the tires are a bit more expensive than the OEM size.

I'll be getting new skins very soon (probably Michelins) and am going to stick with the 265/70-17 size that my truck has right now. Expensive? Yeah; but if I wanted economy, I would have purchased a Cavalier instead. LOL!

the 15" wont fit, the caliper rotor combo is too big, i have seen a guy try to do it once

i have just seen everyone downsizing to 15's. and to tell ya the truth it looks bad azz with 38s. just was wondering but if its that much trouble then i aint doin it. ill go with sum 16 beadlocks. thanks to all!

if you got 15s how did you get them to work? what r the specs. i gota 3 inch body lift so im not to worried bout tire size or off set.

i didnt do anything..no backspaceing nothing...they fit..also i got 6 lug...not sure what yours is

no..now that i have been thinking about what this was i remember, it was a K5 blazer 4x4 with 92 suburban 1/2 ton diffs in it, they couldnt fit the 15" rims on that, sorry my bad, was like 7 years ago so a lil foggy
