Brake problem with 08 Silverado 1500
Hey guys got a problem here my uncle has a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 reg. cab 4WD. An he bought the truck new an said a few months a go he was driving it an getting off of a exit an the brakes were squealing they would do it when he would take his foot off the brake but when he had his foot on the brake they would not do it. He has taken it back to the dealership 4 times an they said they put brand new brakes on it an it still does it. He said it started to do it when it hit 30K miles on it an he has kept the maintenance up by taking it to the dealership every time for every thing it needed. He said either they fix the problem or he will sue GM an go buy a new Ford F150 Ext. cab an be done with GM for good. Any ideas what the problem might be? Was told it might be the hub assembly.

I would have him call GM customer service and let them know the dealership is not fixing the problem. That's why customer service is there to help people with situations like this. They are actually very helpful. I would suggest this first. I would definitely let him know that buying a Ford probably isn't the best solution.

I don't think it is a GM problem, it is a dealership issue and yes, calling the GM internal affairs dept
Or customer service should be the next step.
Tell them that a dealership is not taking care of warranty issues.
The problem with the truck could potentially be a few different things.
But the problem with the whole situation is that the technicians are not properly troubleshooting
And trying to fix the problem like they should, they just guessed the problem was the pads so
They replaced them. That should not reflect upon GM if that is an independent dealership.
