Electrical problem
Hi, I am a new member and am looking for some advice.
2001 1500HD with 6.0 engine 104K miles and has been a very reliable ride.
Replaced the alternator and battery at 58K when they died, otherwise only routine maintanence.
I am noticing a steady constant flicker at night at slow speeds in the headlights and all the dash lights and you can see the voltmeter just barely wiggling. This has been going on for a couple of weeks and appears to be getting worse. Truck starts and runs fine and no trouble codes. At highway speeds it does not do it as bad. Belt looks good, not glazed and no loose connections on alternator.
Ideas?

Welcome to the forum..
might try checking all the cables for solid connections esp the battery terminals and the ground cable....also recheck the connection to the back of the alternator and any securing screws/bolts for the alternator bracket...

You may have a dirty light sensor , if you have one?
If you have variable options , take it off auto.
Also a loose switch that allows you to turn up or down the light sensitivity.
