Default help!

Alright guys/girls here is the story. I have a 1997 2500 with a 5.7 vortec for a plow truck. Drove it to the store shut it down, came out and no start, hard crank, kick back, and starter grinding occured. I replaced the starter and cleaned the crank posistion sensor. It started and ran fine, then i parked cause i didnt need it. I started it one other time and it started fine.
went to start it the other day and the same symptoms as before occured. I replaced the crank posistion sensor this time with no difference. Now i am at a loss, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Assuming your system has a distributor, also make sure the rotor is in good shape and tightly attached.
