Hey so i just painted my 89 Chevy 1500 with a cold air intake and a 5.0l V8. With a Dynomax 3 inch Exhaust. And my Hood insulation in in kinda rough condition and was wondering if it makes a big difference if its there or not. Cause it sound dentaning material. Its a full restore truck by the way

It will not make much difference unless you are trying to show it. I have gone without my insulation in the Camaro for about 6 months now because I had a belt snap and make a clean removal of it.

Hi Scott291racing,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
I always thought the hood insulation was for sound deadening purposes...
Some rodent started camping inside my engine compartment fuse panel cover, and the little peckerhead ripped insulation off my hood and firewall to feather his "nest".
