leaking rear axle seals
My truck has 243,000 miles and I recently had the driver's side rear axle seal replaced. I have now put in 4 new seals by 2 different shops and it still leaks. Next he replaced the bearing, hub and all the seals. Any suggestions? I'm tired of having my truck in the shop!!

Must be damage on the axle shaft from dirt that worked its way into it via an older seal or the wrong seal? seal can be slid on shaft were it rides look for a proper seal hold light behind it see if there is any light making its way past seal while on shaft. make sure axle bearing was changed and is correct one. too much play at axle bearing will damage a new seal. The seal is not designed to hold the axle load or even its weight. I susspect axle bearing but the seal must be changed as well. if axle is grooved bad ust get a salvage axle.
