If I've siphoned the gas out of the tank how hard is it to remove the tank vs the bed? This truck came from New Mexico and the nuts look a little rusted on the bed. I sprayed WD40 on the bed bolts and the tank bolts a couple of weeks ago. I have an engine hoist that I borrowed from my neighbor when I changed my motor out on my 2001 Silverado. I haven't returned it yet.

I ran a pressure check on the fuel pump. It isn't reading any pressure and the gas is barely coming out. I may have already siphoned too much gas out and not able to get an accurate pressure reading. Either way, I will be changing the pump.

Thanks.

box for sure, there is only 8 bolt's i have only broke one out of probably fifty fuel pumps i have done on these trucks, it is very tricky to unhook the fuel lines from the top of the tank especially when you have gorilla arms like myself

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a bad tank of gas. Where did you fill up?

I ran out of gas and coasted into the gas station. Put about 10 gallons of gas into the truck and it wouldn't run. It would start up and then die.

I have already run my Silverado to almost out of gas and then siphoned the gas out of the GMC into my Silverado. The Silverado ran fine. So it's not the gas. That would have been too easy. I could see it being the IAC.
