It's hard to tell without the year and model information but P0463 generally means a stuck fuel level sensor or short in the circuit resulting in a reading that stays high and constant.

It's a 2007 Chev LTZ new body style the fuel gauge works most of the time but a few times it went right to empty then bounced back to where it should have been..engine light is staying on i got it turned off but it came back on

Then, it means the fuel sender stuck out of range high (on the primary fuel tank if you have two). The culprit could be the fuel sender unit, an open circuit, or short to a voltage source (but don't quote me on the last two). The trouble code has to do with EVAP and thus it shouldn't cause driveability problems.

You're quite welcome. Keep in mind that it may be a wiring problem. If you still have the 5y/100k powertrain warranty, check with a service department. If not, you can replace the fuel level sender without replacing the entire fuel pump assembly. They are available separately.
