Question about leaf spring
on my 09 Silverado, I have been hearing a clunking noise coming from my rear leaf springs. I noticed that on the drivers side leaf, the clips are different then the ones on the right leaf (which has the proper clips), which leads me to think that the leaf was replaced at one point. The problem is that the clips on the left leaf don't have the plastic or rubber spacer that keeps the spring from moving around in it, and the leaf moves causing my clunking noise. is it possible to buy a clip? can I cut the clip off? the first pic is what the left leaf spring looks like, and the second pic is what the factory clips(# 8 in pic) look like.
